Kimpact was proud to deliver 4 scholarships this year to new graduates.
Below are four (4) scholarships available to apply for through the Kimpact Foundation. Each applicant may only apply for one of the scholarships below.
Mahalo Scholarship #1
Purpose
“Kimpact” is the noun for an individual or group that brings a vision to life, inspires with great passion, and acts as a catalyst for positive change. Kim loved championing people as they discovered and developed their passion. She believed in the connection between passion, innovation and impact – and mostly, she believed that every single person should find the opportunity to pursue their passion and purpose. Kim’s legacy lives on through our scholarship program, designed to support those in pursuit of their highest potential with the goal of making a Kimpact.
Eligibility
The $1000 Kimpact Foundation Scholarship Contest opens at 12:00 AM ET on September 1, 2022 and closes at 11:59 PM ET on February 1, 2023.
This scholarship contest is open to residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 17 or older at the time of entry, and who meet (1) of the (6) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry:
- A US resident enrolled in any accredited university in the state of Hawaii for the 2022-2023 school year.
- A resident from the state of Hawaii enrolled in any accredited university in the United States.
- A US resident who can demonstrate enrollment in any accredited university in the state of Hawaii for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
- A resident from the state of Hawaii who can demonstrate enrollment in any accredited university in the United States for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year or is a high school senior.
- A US resident who has graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the state of Hawaii and is paying back loans.
- A resident of Hawaii who has graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program anywhere in the United States.

Respond to the following prompt either in essay, film or recorded song/poetry form. For essays, there is a limit of 500 words; for film or recorded song/poetry there is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Submission
Please submit your essay/multimedia file as an attachment to: scholarships@kimpactfoundation.org. In the body of your e-mail, please include the following information: First name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, Essay Choice # and college you are attending, have attended or are planning on attending (if you are a high school senior, please share intended schools you’ve applied to).
If your multimedia file is too large via e-mail, please e-mail: help@kimpactfoundation.org for further directions.
Each applicant may only apply for one scholarship from the Kimpact Charitable Foundation.
Failure to comply with any of the submission guidelines will result in an incomplete application and elimination from the applicant pool.
Selection Process
Applicants will be notified by April 1, 2023 whether they have been selected or not. Evidence of enrollment will need to be provided before funds are disseminated.
Criteria
The applications will be reviewed and assessed against the foundation’s mission and vision.

All grants will be awarded in an objective and non-discriminatory basis, without regard to race, religion, gender, citizenship status, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other status protected by federal or state law.
The above program prohibits awards to candidates who are a spouse, ancestor, descendant or spouse of a descendant of any contributor to or Trustee or officer of the Kimpact Charitable Foundation.
Cancer Experience Scholarship #2

Arthur Avenue Scholarship #4
Purpose
“Kimpact” is the noun for an individual or group that brings a vision to life, inspires with great passion, and acts as a catalyst for positive change. The Arthur Ave scholarship was created in memory of Linda Zambelli, who never met Kim, but shared a similar passion for life, people and food. Linda was an avid foodie who found unparalleled joy in showing those around her love and compassion through food. Linda spent weeks crafting menus for special occasions and was known to visit Arthur Avenue in the Bronx’s Little Italy to source the best ingredients on the market.
