New for 2024, we will offer 2 grants at $2,500 each.

The window to apply is open.  Each applicant may only apply for one of the grants below.

 

Passion Award #1

Prompt

If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose” – Bishop T.D. Jakes. What is a passion of yours that you hope to create an impact with?

Eligibility

The Kimpact Foundation Grant opens at 12:00 AM ET on January 15, 2024 and closes at 11:59 PM ET on August 24, 2024. The winner will receive $2,500 from the Kimpact Foundation to be used at their discretion and will be featured on the Kimpact Foundation website and all social media affiliates.

This Grant is open to residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 17 or older at the time of entry, and who meet (1) of the (3) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry:

  1. A US resident enrolled in any accredited university in the US for the 2023-2024 school year.
  2. A US resident who can demonstrate enrollment in any accredited university in the US for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year by April of 2024.
  3. A US resident who has graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the US and is paying back loans. 

Application Process

Format
Respond to the prompt either in essay, film, or recorded song/poetry form. For essays, there is a limit of 500 words; for film or recorded song/poetry there is a maximum of 5 minutes.

Submission
Please submit your essay/multimedia file as an attachment to: scholarships@kimpactfoundation.org. In the body of your e-mail, please include the following information: First name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, Essay Choice # and college you are attending, have attended, or are planning on attending (if you are a high school senior, please share intended schools you’ve applied to).

If your multimedia file is too large via e-mail, please e-mail: help@kimpactfoundation.org for further directions.

Each applicant may only apply for one Grant from the Kimpact Charitable Foundation.

Failure to comply with any of the submission guidelines will result in an incomplete application and elimination from the applicant pool.

Selection Process
Winning applicant will be notified by September 24, 2024. Evidence of enrollment will need to be provided before funds are disseminated.

Criteria
The applications will be reviewed and assessed against the foundation’s mission and vision.

All grants will be awarded in an objective and non-discriminatory basis, without regard to race, religion, gender, citizenship status, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other status protected by federal or state law.

The above program prohibits awards to candidates who are a spouse, ancestor, descendant or spouse of a descendant of any Trustee or officer of the Kimpact Charitable Foundation.

Survivor Award #2

Prompt

The Kimpact Cancer Survivor Award is intended to celebrate survivors and the inspiration they provide others in their battle with cancer. Please tell us a bit about the nominee’s story and how they/you have chosen to live since beating Cancer. What does life look like with cancer in the rearview mirror?

Eligibility

The Kimpact Foundation Grant opens at 12:00 AM ET on January 15, 2024 and closes at 11:59 PM ET on August 14, 2024. The winner will receive $2,500 from the Kimpact Foundation to be used at their discretion and will be featured on the Kimpact Foundation website and all social media affiliates.

This grant is open to residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and who meet (1) of the (2) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry:

  1. You can nominate yourself or seize the opportunity to create your own Kimpact by nominating someone in your life who has beaten cancer.
  2. The nominee is someone in complete remission; this person can be of any age.

The recipient of this award is the person you are nominating, or “nominee”. Self-nominations are accepted.
